>>>Travis Rutz BIO
Most dirt race fans in the Northwest have seen or heard of Travis Rutz at tracks like Skagit Speedway, Grays Harbor Speedway to name a few. Travis Rutz makes his home in Langley, BC, Canada.
First off a little history of this young man’s early racing career. At age 19 Travis Rutz has already won some big races including his most recent Gold Cup win at Castrol Raceway, Edmonton, Alberta on July 14, 2007. Travis has raced at this northern track only twice and both times becoming victorious. Travis won the Gold Cup in 2004 at 16 yrs becoming the youngest winner of the Gold Cup. This year Travis is not running the full time schedule at Skagit Speedway like he has the last two years. Instead he is venturing off to run the Northwest Sprint Challenge Series (NSCS).
Some other big wins to add to his resume is Skagit Speedway 360 Nationals in 2006, Kasey Kahne foundation 1st annual race at Skagit Speedway in 2006. 12 - Skagit Speedway 410 & 360 wins since 2004.
Each World of outlaw’s event Rutz has entered brought him to the A Main. At Cottage Grove Speedway, Oregon he broke his own track record in NSCS this year. Rutz is also the youngest driver to win a NST main event, and the youngest ever to win a main race at Skagit Speedway with previous youngest being Kasey Kahne.
Wow so all those stats at only 19 yrs old and that’s just since Rutz started racing the 360 and 410 Sprint cars. Rutz has been racing since age 7 in Asphalt Quarter Midgets with 503 main event wins, 9 time champion, rookie of the year, and 23 track records.
To add Rutz also raced in Mini Sprints with 25 main event wins, youngest ever to win in 250cc and 1200cc main events. Rookie of the year in 250cc, 1200cc and driver of the year in 1200’s.
So next time you’re at Dirt Track in Northwest Canada or USA watch for this young driver to make some impressive moves on his competitors. With stats like this I’m sure Rutz will be moving up to the next level soon like the World of Outlaw Sprint series, ARCA, Nascar Busch or Nascar Nextel Cup. sky’s the limit for this young 19 year old from Canada.
