johnpadjenmotorsports.com story : Meyers started the race on the outside of the front row, but it was pole sitter Paul McMahan who jumped out to the early lead. McMahan held the field at bay early on as the track started out as a single file freight rain on the bottom. Once some consecutive laps were put together however, the top groove began to come in and the racing intensified.

After hounding McMahan for several laps Meyers made the top side stick to make the move around the Brian Sperry No. 51 for the lead of the race on lap 26. It wasn't over though as the pair exchanged the lead a couple separate times over the next few laps while the crowd was on their feet cheering with approval. Meyers would take the lead for good on lap 28, but had to hold off the constant challenges from McMahan and San Jose 's Tim Kaeding over the final ten laps.

McMahan brought his mount home in second to cap off a very successful weekend of action for the former Oroville driver. T. Kaeding put on another exciting charge to the front and finished third after starting from position 10 in the Tom Rolfe Racing No. 10. Rounding out the top five were Grass Valley 's Brad Sweet and Elk Grove's Greg Decaires. Finishing out the top 10 in the 22nd annual Mini Gold Cup were Mike Henry, Jonathan Allard, Andy Gregg, Mark Hall and Travis Rutz.

Racing action will return in two weeks to Silver Dollar Speedway with the annual Silver Cup on March 21 and 22. The Golden State Challenge Series will head to Watsonville 's Ocean Speedway next Friday night for the third round of action.
